Everything we do at Lord of Life centers on the message of what Jesus Christ has done for us. We are a member of a worldwide Christian denomination called the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (www.wels.net). WELS operates the fourth largest private school system in the country.
No, you do not need to be a member. However, your child will learn much about what our church believes about the Bible. It would be beneficial for you to take our New Life Bible Class to learn more about what we believe and the blessings of membership here at Lord of Life.
We strive to keep our student to teacher ration as low as possible. We usually don’t exceed 25 kids in any classroom is grades 1-8. We keep the kindergarten class to 15 or less.
Our students regularly perform at or above the national average for their grade levels. We perform our testing in the fall of each school year for grades 3-8.
There will be homework at every grade level. The amount will change day to day and vary by grade level. You can expect your child to have some homework every day.
The students are taught Spanish each week as part of the regular curriculum.
The school is equipped with a mobile lab consisting of 10 Chromebook laptops for the students to use. The students are taught typing and general word processing skills. The teachers also will use computers in the classroom for a variety of other ways to enhance their learning. Students are also allowed to bring their own ChromeBooks to school, and the school is currently acquiring more ChromeBooks to supplement the laptops for classroom use.
If you are interested in buying your own ChromeBook, please visit Google’s ChromeBook site and get a model that best suits your child’s needs. All models are suitable for classroom usage.
No. Lord of Life does have a dress code but no school uniforms are required. All we ask is that the students are dressed neatly for school.
We do not have a hot lunch program. Each student is required to bring their own lunch daily. There are microwaves in the lunchroom for the students to use.
We offer a variety of sports for the kids in grades 3-8 to participate in. Some of them include: Soccer, Cheerleading, Basketball, Track, and Volleyball. We also teach the students many other sports skills in our Physical Education classes. Students in grades 6-8 have the opportunity to participate in a middle school sports program for volleyball and basketball through our local Lutheran high school, Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School.
We do not have bussing. Parents need to drop off and pick up their children or arrange alternate transportation.
Yes! Starting in the 2018-2019 school year, we will provide before school care 7:30-8:30 a.m. and after school care 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Parents are encouraged to come and visit their child’s classroom whenever they wish. Out of common courtesy, we would ask that you schedule those visits with your child’s teacher.
